What is stress?
The autonomic nervous system regulates bodily functions primarily at a subconscious level and is the mechanism that controls the fight or flight response.
When the autonomic nervous system senses a real or imagined danger, this fight or flight mechanism kicks in and releases adrenaline to prepare the body to fight off this danger.
