What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of mind that we all experience on a daily basis. Think about those ten seconds just before you nod off to sleep at night, or maybe being totally engrossed in a good book or movie. Hypnosis is just a feeling of deep relaxation and when you are in this beautifully relaxed state it is possible to access the powerful part of the brain known as the subconscious

What is Virtual Hypnotherapy?
Virtual Hypnotherapy is literally therapy carried out online whilst in a state of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy has been helping people deal with a vast range of problems for approximately the past 5000 years! Now technology allows us to carry out this therapy successfully online.

 What can hypnotherapy be used for?
There are many issues that hypnotherapy can help including
stress, weight loss, emotional eating, fears and phobias, self confidence and self esteem issues, relationships, public speaking and presenting issues, insomnia, stopping smoking, exam and driving test nervousness, irritable bowel syndrome and pain management.

What does virtual hypnosis feel like?
...a beautiful relaxed feeling...that's all! You sit back in a comfortable chair or couch in the safety of your own home. You close your eyes and enter a state of relaxation and calmness. You are fully aware of what is going on around you and remain totally in control. This is a very pleasant state and can be likened to daydreaming.

Will I be 'out of control'?

A good WiFi connection is essential

You have to be in a room where you will not get disturbed

You need to be sitting comfortably on a chair or a couch

How effective is online Virtual Hypnotherapy compared to face to face Hypnosis?

A study carried out from the University of Manchester in 2019 found that Skype hypnotherapy sessions were almost as good as those conducted face to face with all clients claiming 'significant improvement'.

How many sessions does it take?
On average, clients need between three to five sessions. These are one hour in duration and spread about a week apart.

What is the subconscious?
It is thought that the subconscious accounts for approximately 90% of the brain's capacity. The subconscious brain is where all our emotions are stored and therefore is responsible for our reactions, interpretations and general behaviour.

Are there some people who cannot be hypnotised?
Everybody can be hypnotised as long as they realise that they are in control. People who think they cannot be hypnotised are those who have a fear of what could happen if they 'let go'. I am a great believer in self-hypnosis and once a person realises that they remain in control, then they can take themselves into hypnosis very easily.
